Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Wall Of Faces
When VVMF built The Wall in 1982, it had an important mission: To honor Vietnam Veterans and heal the wounds of a nation. The web site includes a Wall of Faces on which they display pictures of many of those whose name appears on the wall. Three decades later, the mission continues as funds are being raised to build the Education Center at The Wall. Yankee Air Museum
The 366th Fighter Association proudly salutes the Yankee Air Museum for showcasing the 366th among its exhibits. We encourage all 366th Fighter Association Members to make the Museum a stop on your itinerary the next time you are in the Ypsilanti, Michigan area.
Among the aircraft showcased at the Yankee Air Museum you will find F-4C #63-555. In addition to sporting a Vietnam era paint scheme and tail letters, indicating it was assigned to the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing's 389th Tactical Fighter Squadron, the aircraft is emblazoned with "The Gunfighters" emblem.
The Legend of Y-29 - January 1, 1945
The attack on the Asch airbase, known as Y-29, was a total disaster. When the 11th Jagdgeschwader reached Y-29 they found 8 Thunderbolts of the 390th Fighter Squad, 366 Fighter Group circling the field and 12 Mustangs of the 487th Fighter Squad, 352nd Fighter Group just taking off. The ensuing battle came to be know as the "Legend of Y-29". This battle was only one of many battles that took place on new years day 1945.
USAF Basic Training Flight Photos
The USAF Basic Military Training Flight Photograph Project is a concentrated effort to collect the approximately 119,000 USAF basic training photographs from the inception of the US Air Force in 1947 to the present. The collection includes photos from all bases that conducted Air Force basic training including Lackland AFB, Texas, Sampson AFB, New York, Parks AFB, California, Keesler Field, Mississippi, Amarillo and Sheppard AFB, Texas. The collection will also include Air Force basic training that was conducted overseas.
