366th Fighter Association - 2025 Thunderbird Museum Tour
For those going to Nellis Air Force Base for the Thunderbird Museum Tour
We will board the bus, outside the Plaza Hotel & Casino, at 09:15 and depart promptly at 09:30. We expect to arrive at Nellis AFB around 10:00. After clearing Security we will be taken to the Thunderbird Hanger for a guided tour of the facility. Depending on the Thunderbird's aircraft maintenance schedule we may also have the opportunity to meet, and converse with, members of the Thunderbird Support Team. Departure from the Museum will be at approximately 14:00, by that time we will have had ample time to see everything and be ready to leave.
VISITOR ACCESS TO NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE - ID REQUIREMENTS
In order to be granted Base access to visit the Thunderbird Museum, the Department of the Air Force requires that groups be accompanied by one or more Department of Defense (DoD) ID card holders. Additionally, all visitors must have in their possession a current valid Government Issued ID. DoD ID card holders are allowed to escort guests onto Nellis to visit the Museum. Holders of a Veteran Health Identification Card that notes a service-connected disability may also access the Base and visit the museum. All other Visitors (16 years and older) must present a valid photo ID and be accompanied by an authorized person. Acceptable forms of non-DoD issued identification include: A State issued "Real ID" (Card or Drivers License), and U.S. Passports. Backpacks and similar items are not allowed in the Museum (exceptions are small purses, camera bags, fanny packs and medicine bags); all bags are subject to search by Base Security and visible inspection by a member of the Museum staff or a qualified volunteer. Concealed weapons are not allowed.
